A total of 70 flights operated by EVA Air between Macau and Taiwan have been cancelled as the airline’s flight attendants are on strike, which began on Thursday afternoon after negotiations with the management collapsed.
Xinhua reported yesterday that the airline said that more than 640 flights between yesterday and Friday have been cancelled due to the ongoing strike, affecting over 100,000 passengers.
EVA Air (where EVA stands for Evergreen Airways) is the second largest Taiwanese airline. Privately owned, it operates an intercontinental route network. It was named the world’s 15th safest airline last year, according to Wikipedia.
