Macau casino revenue grew in June for a second straight month in a sign that the sector is holding its ground even as the prolonged Sino-US trade war bites into mainland China’s economic growth.
Gross gaming revenue was 23.8 billion patacas last month, up 5.9 percent from a year earlier, the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ) said in a statement yesterday.
That was better than the median analyst forecast of a 1.8 percent increase, and follows May’s growth of just 1.8 percent.
