A 27-year-old man from Hong Kong was hired by a gang to sell drugs in Macau, Judiciary Police (PJ) spokeswoman Lei Hon Nei said during a special press conference yesterday.
The suspect, surnamed Chan, was arrested in the early hours of yesterday near a guesthouse in Praça de Ponte e Horta. After his arrest, the man told the police that he had been hired by the gang for a “salary” of HK$2,000 per day as he needed money to repay his debts.
The suspect told the police that he works as a chef in Hong Kong.
