High-profile protester Hoi Weng Chong, widely known in Cantonese as “the Man in Red”, petitioned the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in Macau yesterday, hoping to send his “heartfelt wishes” and political platform for the upcoming chief executive election to the central government through the office.
Hoi announced last month that he intended to run in next month’s chief executive election and launched his populist platform.
Hoi told reporters outside the office in Avenida Dr. Rodrigo Rodrigues in Zape yesterday afternoon that he had been busy preparing the letter to the central government last week and he planned to pick up his nomination forms this week, adding that he would try to contact some of the members of the Chief Executive Election Committee.
