The Health Bureau (SSM) announced yesterday that batch No. 7006 of the Japanese prescription drug “Bienrick K JO Tablets”, a remedy for rhinitis, will be withdrawn from the local market with immediate effect.

According to the announcement, the Health Bureau detected during a routine inspection of medicines that the microbial limit of “Bienrick K JO Tablets”, manufactured by Yoneda Yakuhin Co. exceeds the bureau’s pharmacological criteria, and thus has ordered the importer of the drug to withdraw the medicine from the market at once.

The announcement did not reveal when and where the routine inspection was carried out.
