The Macau Customs Service said in a statement yesterday that it has launched an investigation into possible negligence by its officers for permitting two local companies to import poppies.

The statement came after the Judiciary Police (PJ) announced on Saturday the arrests of two local florists for selling poppies.

According to a PJ special press conference on Saturday, the Judiciary Police arrested a local man and a local woman, the co-owners of a flower shop in the city centre, on Friday for selling poppies that they had bought online.
