The provisional leasehold of a plot of land opposite the local airport, covering an area of 4,576 square metres, has been annulled because the plot, the government says, had still not been developed when the leasehold expired on December 13, according to yesterday’s Official Gazette (BO).
The plot of land, adjacent to the ill-fated La Scala luxury estate project in Avenida Wai Long, known as “1d”, was earmarked for a green area.
Accordion to the gazette, Tai Lei Loi – Sociedade de Fomento Predial Limitada, obtained the leasehold in 1999. The government said in the gazette that if the company disagreed with the annulment, it could object to Chief Executive Fernando Chui Sai On within 15 days after the announcement was gazetted. The company can also appeal to the Court of Second Instance (TSI) within 30 days after the annulment was published in the Official Gazette.
