Saturday night at the 16,000-seat Macau Olympic Sports Centre in Taipa in front of a crowd of 8,853, the game of Paris Saint Germain (PSG) vs. FC Internazionale Milano, commonly known as Inter Milan, was decided on penalties after ending in a one all draw at the end of 90 minutes with the final score being 1-1 (6-7).

PSG, the French Ligue 1 champions, owned by Qatar Sports Investments (QSI), and Italian outfit Inter Milan that has mainland Chinese company Suning as a major shareholder, took part in the International Super Cup Macau match organised by Kaisa Culture & Sports, a Shenzhen-based venue operator, as part of the two teams’ pre-season Asia Tour.

Both sides were short of many of their recognised “superstars” with Kylian Mbappe, Ander Herrera and Edison Cavani the only instantly recognised names for PSG with Ivan Persic, Stefan De Vrij and Roberto Gagliardini being the household names for Inter. A whole host of academy players were given the chance to show their mettle in the stifling heat at the stadium.
