The police arrested a mainland tourist on Sunday for hurting a septuagenarian with a fork in a row in the ATM area of a local bank branch, Public Security Police (PSP) spokesman Cheong Heon Fan said during a regular press conference yesterday.
According to Cheong, the suspect surnamed Cui is in his thirties who holds a valid permit to visit Macau. The victim, who is in his seventies, is a local retiree. His personal information was not released.
The incident happened at the bank branch in Avenida Dr. Rodrigo Rodrigues at about midnight on Saturday. The septuagenarian had HK$120,000 in cash that he was going to deposit, Cheong said. Then a man – Cui –wearing a black cap entered the ATM area and stood behind him, after which he was “rudely” told by the victim to stay outside the ATM area as he was depositing a large amount of cash.
This undated handout photo provided by the Public Security Police (PSP) yesterday shows evidence – a fork, a black cap and cash seized from the suspect or found in a rubbish bin of a car park nearby the crime scene.
