Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) Acting Vice President Choi Kin Long said yesterday the bureau had not received any objections from the UNESCO World Heritage Committee regarding the height of a controversial building project, the construction of which has been mothballed since 2008, on Guia Hill that activists say blocks the view of the Guia Lighthouse heritage site.

Choi made the comment during a press conference at the bureau in Praça do Tap Seac about the bureau’s participation in the 43rd UNESCO World Heritage Committee meeting in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, last month.

According to Choi, one of the issues under discussion during the meeting was to review a draft resolution of UNESCO’s global World Heritage protection status report.
