Chief executive candidate Ho Iat Seng said yesterday that the government’s current mechanism for approving roadworks requested by private entities would need to be reviewed with the aim of reducing the impact of roadworks on residents’ daily lives.
Ho attended a Q&A session with representatives of young people yesterday evening. The seminar at the headquarters of the Macau Chamber of Commerce (ACM) in Zape was attended by 200 participants from about 50 associations.
Ho noted that in the past a roadworks committee led by the Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) used to only approve roadworks at a particular location by the same entity once a year. He noted that currently the committee can approve such roadworks every two months.
