A collision between a scooter and a car occurred near The Riviera Macau residential building in the Inner Harbour area yesterday afternoon, after which the 20-year-old female rider told firemen that her left hand had been run over by the car, according to the Fire Services Bureau (CB).
The accident happened at around 4 p.m. near the residential building in Rua do Dr. Lourenço Pereira Marques, according to the bureau.
After the collision, the scooter fell to the ground. The rider, who had her left hand fractured and sustained abrasions to her face, was taken to the private Kiang Wu Hospital for treatment, the bureau said.
The 26-year-old male car driver, who passed a breathalyser test, told the police that the accident happened when the scooter was overtaking his vehicle. The police have launched an investigation into the exact cause of the crash.
