There are many skilful and creative craftsmen in Macau who have joined an up-and-coming sector – the cultural and creative industries.
The cultural and creative industries were popularised in Taiwan in recent years. However, the existence of arts and crafts is perennial. In Greek myths, the goddess Athena was known to be the patron of the arts and crafts. If Athena were real, then the goddess did shower Macau with grace and blessings because in the city there are secretly talented arts and crafts creators just around the corner.
O-moon and KakaHandmade are two local Macau start-ups that use their hands to create arts and crafts products that are influenced by the city’s culture.
