The local Hotel Okura has rolled out a five-course meal featuring signature dim sum dishes typical of a traditional Chinese lunch.

The new dim sum lunch set served at the hotel’s 28th floor is to celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival, which falls on September 13 this year.

The five-course set lunch begins with the quintessential southern Chinese dish – char siu, or barbeque pork glazed with honey sauce served with jellyfish.

This is followed by a dim sum platter featuring a rabbit-shaped dumpling for the Mid-Autumn theme, the classic shrimp dumpling, chicken ginseng pie, and crispy seafood salad roll.

Soup is essential to a southern Chinese meal, and for the set, the culinary team is serving double-boiled sea whelk with conpoy, cabbage and mushroom.

There are some additional seafood delicacies, which are sautéed prawn and scallop in pomelo sauce, and to wrap the savoury bites up is a bowl of spicy Sichuan noodles.

The meal ends with the popular mango pomelo sago Chinese dessert.

The dim sum set menu is priced at 198 patacas per person (with a minimum order for two persons), and is available from 11 a.m. to 2.30 p.m.
