An enthusiastic crowd on Saturday saw local boxers Cheong Lap Cheong, Michael Olfindo and Andre (Jay) Angelo Adangla Fernandez fighting opponents from Yunnan, Guangzhou and Hong Kong respectively, ending in a mixed bag of results – a win for Cheong, while Olfindo and Fernandez had their fights stopped.

Local gym Macao Boxing House held the “Guangdong-Hong Kong – Macau Greater Bay Area (GBA) Professional Boxing Championship” on Saturday, the first time that an all professional boxing event, organised and hosted by a local gym, had been staged in the city.

There were six bouts with pugilists from Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Yunnan as well as three local lads in the event at the Macao Boxing House Gym in Fat Lei Industrial Building in Areia Preta.
