Attending yesterday’s forum in Areia Preta Park hosted by government broadcaster TDM, lawyers Jorge Ho Kam Meng and Hong Weng Kuan questioned the government’s proposed “passive sting operations” to collect evidence in its fight against rogue cabbies.

About two dozen residents attended the weekly open-air forum. Yesterday’s programme focused on the government’s proposed changes to the city’s taxi regulation.

Ho, a guest speaker at the forum, said that he did not support the “passive sting operations” which he thought contradicted the principles of the Macau Penal Code.
