Official figures announced by the Statistics and Census Service Bureau (DSEC) yesterday show that the amount of pollutants found in waste water, which had already been processed by the Macau Peninsula Waste Water Treatment Plant and Coloane Waste Water Treatment Plant, exceeded the official emission limit.
According to environmental statistics for 2015 issued by the bureau yesterday, the city’s five waste water treatment plants processed a daily average of 192,965 cubic metres of waste water, a decrease of about 11 percent year-on-year.
There are two waste water treatment plants in the peninsula – in the Zhuhai-Macau Cross Border Industrial Zone in Ilha Verde and the Waste Water Treatment Plant in Kam Hoi San district. The other three waste water plants are located in Taipa (Pac On, the airport) and Coloane.
