Portugal’s Prosecutor-General Joana Marques Vidal said yesterday that Portugal would continue sending public prosecutors on secondment to Macau, as long as the city’s top public prosecutor requests it.
Marques Vidal, along with other prosecution officials from Portugal, met local prosecution officials headed by Public Prosecutor General Ip Son Sang at the Public Prosecution Office (MP) headquarters in Nape yesterday. The meeting was closed to the media.
According to local Portuguese-language media reports in December, Portugal had requesting at that time that its prosecutors working in Macau should return home once their local employment contracts end.
