The Judiciary Police (PJ) and the Zhuhai Public Security Bureau (PSB) have jointly busted a gang smuggling illegal immigrants from the mainland to Macau, PJ spokesman Leng Kam Lon said during a special press conference on Saturday.

According to Leng, PJ officers detained three suspected members – all of them male – of the gang, which had been operating for six months, and caught three illegal immigrants – two males and a female – outside the Macau Science Centre in Nape on Friday night. At about the same time, two alleged kingpins and three suspected members of the gang were detained in Zhuhai. Leng did not mention the gender of those arrested in Zhuhai.

According to Leng, the three male suspects arrested in Macau are mainlanders aged between 24 and 30.
