HK gang hires jobless woman, 17-year-old boy to sell drugs in Macau: police

A 17-year-old boy and a 59-year-old woman from Hong Kong were hired by a gang to sell drugs in Macau, Judiciary Police (PJ) spokesman Choi Ian Fai said during a special press conference yesterday.

Both suspects were caught when they were dealing drugs on Sunday night in the Rua de Campo neighbourhood. The male suspect is surnamed Kwok. The unemployed teenager, who has dropped out of school, told the police that he had been hired by the gang for a payment of HK$1,500 per day, Choi said. The female suspect is surnamed Leong. She told the police that she is also unemployed. and that she was paid HK$2,000 per day for smuggling drugs from Hong Kong to Macau.

According to Choi, the Judiciary Police were recently tipped off that unemployed and indebted people had been hired by a Hong Kong gang to smuggle and sell drugs in Macau. After investigating, PJ officers identified Kwok and Leong as the suspected drug smugglers and sellers.
