Chief Executive-designate Ho Iat Seng spent 4.72 million patacas on his election campaign earlier this year, according to a paid advertisement published in The Macau Post Daily and other local newspapers yesterday.
According to the advertisement, Ho spent most of the money on the refitting of his campaign office and its equipment – 1.3 million, or 27.9 percent of the total expenditure. A total of 870,916 patacas was spent on advertising and publicity, while expenses on human resources amounted to 568,966 patacas.
By law, Ho could have spent up to 6.44 million patacas on his campaign. In the end, he spent 73 percent of that amount.
