A university student was detained on Sunday for alleged sexual harassment after being caught hitting a woman’s buttocks in a hotel lobby in Cotai, Public Security Police (PSP) spokesman Kam Ka Kit said during a regular press conference in Zape yesterday.
According to Kam, the 23-year-old suspect is surnamed Peng. He told the police that he is a university student from the mainland. The victim is a non-resident worker from the mainland in her twenties. She told the police that she works for the hotel where the incident happened.
The incident happened in a hotel in Estrada da Baía de Nossa Senhora da Esperança at about 2 p.m. on Sunday. The woman was on duty in the hotel lobby when she felt someone behind her hit her left buttock. As the victim turned around, she saw Peng behind her acting suspiciously. She grabbed his hands and asked lobby staff for help.
