Macau Government Tourism Office (MGTO) Deputy Director Ricky Hoi Io Meng said yesterday that his office expects the number of visitor arrivals during this year’s National Day Golden Week holiday period to increase 10 to 15 percent compared to the corresponding period last year.

Hoi made the remarks while speaking to reporters at The Plaza Restaurant in Zape on the sidelines of a public event.

Hoi also said his office had noticed that since the opening of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge (HZMB) in late October last year, the number of Hong Kong visitors has increased, adding that Macau also recorded a higher number of Hong Kong visitors during the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday period earlier this month, compared to the corresponding period last year.
