The Portuguese government has announced the automatic recognition of the Macau Special Administrative Region’s (MSAR) higher education degrees and diplomas, the Higher Education Bureau (DSES) said in a statement yesterday.
According to the statement, the recognition of higher education degrees and diplomas will not only facilitate cooperation between the two places in the field of higher education, but also raise the international recognition of Macau’s academic qualifications.
The move followed the “Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of the Macau Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China and the Government of the Portuguese Republic Conducting the Automatic Recognition of Diplomas and Academic Degrees” signed by the local and Portuguese governments in May, the statement said.
