Public Administration and Civil Service Bureau (SAFP) Director Kou Peng Kuan says in a reply to a written interpellation by directly elected legislator Si Ka Lon that the government plans to set up an information platform from which the public can receive answers to their questions about the government’s policies.
Si, a local Fujianese community civic leader, says in his interpellation, which he submitted to the legislature in February, that the government’s information on its policies should be open to the public, adding that if citizens are able to access the information the goal of the government to become a “sunshine” administration could finally be reached.
In Cantonese, the term “sunshine” is used to describe transparent governance.
