The Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) plans to remove all dog toilets and eventually replace them with dog excreta collection bins, IAM Vice Chairman Lei Wai Nong said during a regular meeting of the bureau’s Consultative Committee at its headquarters in Largo do Senado last week.

According to Lei, the setting-up of the dog toilets took a relatively long period of time but the outcome was not as expected. Therefore, the bureau plans to remove the dog toilets and replace them with dog excreta collection bins, according to Lei.

There are currently 29 dog toilets in Macau. Twenty are located on the peninsula, seven in Taipa and two in Coloane, according to the IAM website.
