Central People’s Government Liaison Office in Macau Deputy Director Zhang Rongshun has suggested that in additions to laws in Portugal, local legal experts, in collaboration with their counterparts on the mainland, could also translate laws from other jurisdictions such as Germany and Japan, which he said could help Macau’s “legislative work”, according to a statement by the Macau Foundation (FM) yesterday.

Zhang made the remarks on Monday during a seminar about the “Macau Special Administrative Region (MSAR) Law Studies Book Collection” jointly organised by the Macau Foundation (FM), the University of Macau (UM) and Social Sciences Academic Press (China). The statement did not mention the venue where the seminar took place.

Social Sciences Academic Press, founded in 1985, is the publishing wing of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS).
