A female non-resident worker from the mainland took HK$4,000 in cash from an ATM on Wednesday that had been left by a Hong Kong man who forgot to take the cash after he withdrew it from the machine, a Public Security Police (PSP) spokesperson said during a regular press conference yesterday.

The spokesperson identified the suspect as a 30-year-old surnamed Tan who works for a local eatery as a takeaway food delivery person.

At around 5 p.m. on Wednesday, the Hong Kong man withdrew the HK$4,000 from an ATM in the lobby of a hotel in Cotai but forgot to take the cash before walking away, the spokesperson said.
