The Judiciary Police (PJ) arrested a mainlander last week for lodging a false robbery report to the police, claiming that a female mainlander had robbed him after he had smoked a cigarette, which the woman had given him, that allegedly made him feel dizzy and caused him to faint, PJ spokesman Lai Man Vai said during a special press conference on Sunday.
According to Lai, the suspect, a 33-year-old man surnamed Hu, told the police that he is unemployed. The personal information of Hu’s two accomplices – a male and a female, was not released by the police.
According to Lai, at about 8 a.m. on Friday Hu called the police for help. He told the police that he was engaged in illegal currency exchange activities and had met a female customer earlier that day in a hotel in Cotai.
