A mother from the mainland flew from Malaysia to Macau in an attempt to enter the city with a fake Senegal passport last week as she wanted to stay with her daughter, a local resident, in Macau for a prolonged period of time as her genuine passport only allows her to stay in Macau for seven days, a Public Security Police (PSP) spokesperson said during a regular press conference on Friday.

Her daughter and a male mainlander were also arrested in the case last Tuesday. Both were arrested in the arrivals hall of the local airport shortly after the arrest of the mother, according to the spokesperson. The mother had asked the male suspect to help her get an African country’s passport so that she could stay in Macau for an extended period of time. In the daughter’s luggage, a fake Guinea-Bissau passport and ID card with her father’s personal information were found, according to the spokesperson.

The spokesperson identified the mother as a 60-year-old housewife surnamed Huang and her daughter as a 40-year-old surnamed Guo who told the police that she is unemployed. The male suspect is a 40-year-old businessman surnamed Deng.

This undated handout photo provided by the Public Security Police (PSP) on Friday shows a forged Senegal passport, a fake Guinea-Bissau passport and a bogus Guinea-Bissau ID card, as well as three mobile phones, seized from the three suspects last Tuesday.
