A total of 12,719 people worked in Macau’s cultural industries last year, the Statistics and Census Bureau (DSEC) announced yesterday.
Based on the city’s total workforce of 394,900 in the fourth quarter of last year, 3.2 percent of them worked in the cultural industries.
According to a bureau’s statistics on the city’s cultural industries in 2018, 2,246 entities were operating in the industries’ four core domains, namely creative design, cultural exhibitions and performances, art collection, and digital media last year, 155 more than in 2017.
