The Public Security Police (PSP) nabbed a gang of four mainlanders last week suspected of at least two pickpocketing cases in the Avenida de Horta e Costa neighbourhood, a PSP spokesperson said during a regular press conference yesterday.
According to the spokesperson, the police took action on Saturday after receiving a tip-off about the gang in the area. The quartet are from Guizhou province, aged between 37 and 45. They hold valid travel documents and entry permits for Macau, the spokesperson said.
The spokesperson said that the light-fingered suspects had been preying on passers-by in Avenida de Horta e Costa and Rua do Rebanho. The police on a special patrol following the tip-off saw four men acting suspiciously and followed them.
