LISBON – Macau has made remarkable development achievements since its return to the motherland in 1999, Portuguese officials have said, praising the successful implementation of the “One Country, Two Systems” principle in Macau.
Portuguese President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa has spoken highly of Macau’s socio-economic development successes and expressed his appreciation of the preservation and promotion of the Portuguese language in Macau.
The harmonious and stable development of the Macau Special Administrative Region (SAR) is testimony to the friendly ties between Portugal and China, the president said.
