The Judiciary Police (PJ) detained a female mainlander on Sunday for stealing gaming chips worth HK$100,000 from a female friend after which the gambled them all away in a local casino, PJ spokesman Ho Chan Nam said during a special press conference yesterday.
Ho said the 33-year-old suspect surnamed Fu told the police that she works as a sales assistant. She also told the police that she and the victim met two months ago on the mainland and both visited Macau on Thursday to gamble, Ho added.
The spokesman did not reveal any information about the victim, apart from her gender.
