Electronic gaming tables approved for use at local casinos meet the World Health Organisation’s (WHO) safety standards, the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ) said in a statement yesterday after casino workers raised concerns that the e-tables were emitting radiation.
The statement said that in addition to regular occupational safety and health inspections at casinos, the bureau also requires gaming operators to provide independent third-party evaluation reports to ensure their gaming facilities comply with safety standards.
The statement pointed out that for the electronic gaming tables the bureau approved in 2017, gaming operators provided test reports from three separate entities from Singapore, the mainland and Hong Kong proving that the tables meet the WHO’s safety standards.
