The Judiciary Police (PJ) arrested a male gambler from the mainland on Monday for robbing a local woman of her handbag with an accomplice on Friday night when she was walking alone near Macau Stadium in Taipa, PJ spokesman Lai Man Vai said during a special press conference yesterday.
The accomplice was still at large at the time of the press conference.
The suspect and his friend decided to rob someone after gambling away all teir money. The victim lost cash and valuables worth 9,000 patacas.Lai identified the suspect as a 30-year-old surnamed Niu.
