The Macau government announced this afternoon that a local nurse and a non-resident worker have tested negative for the novel coronavirus.
According to Health Bureau (SSM) officials at a daily press conference about the Wuhan virus threat, both patients had earlier today been classified as suspected cases. However, tests later in the day confirmed that they are not infected with the novel coronavirus, the officials said.
According to the press conference, the 51-year-old nurse from the private Kiang Wu Hospital had been in contact with a confirmed case last week. She came down with fever, sore throat, runny nose and cough this morning. She has been diagnosed with the flu.
Consequently, the number of confirmed Wuhan virus cases in Macau stays at seven, all of them tourists from Wuhan. Health Bureau officials have described their conditions as "mild".
