One more novel coronavirus (COVID-19) patient in Macau has been discharged, the Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre announced at his daily press conference about the viral menace today.

According to Health Bureau (SSM) officials, the 21-year-old teacher from Wuhan was discharged today after 16 days in isolation treatment at the public Conde de S. Januario Hospital Centre. She was the second COVID-19 patient to have been discharged.

The first patient, a 52-year-hold housewife from Wuhan, was discharged last Thursday. Both women returned to the mainland on the same day of their discharge from hospital.

The two women came to Macau as tourists.

A total of eight novel coronavirus patients still remain hospitalised, five tourists from Wuhan and three from Macau. The Health Bureau has so far confirmed 10 COVID-19 cases and recorded 1,024 suspected cases, of which 993 have meanwhile tested negative for the disease. Health Bureau doctors have begun to test "high-risk" individuals for the disease such as casins shuttle drivers and other people who have been in regular contact with tourists.
