Over 900 people marched on Saturday to urge the government and the legislature to get a long-delayed animal protection bill passed as soon as possible.
Animal rights protests were held in Hong Kong and Taiwan simultaneously, with Macau’s protest co-organised by the Macau Abandoned Animals Association (AAPAM).
The government-initiated animal protection bill, the outline of which was passed by the legislature in October 2014, is being reviewed in detail by the Legislative Assembly’s (AL) 1st Standing Committee.
