A 16-year-old faces a charge of raping a minor after a 15-year-old girl found out she’s nine weeks pregnant.
The case was announced during a Judiciary Police (PJ) press conference yesterday.
According to a PJ spokesman, the two teenagers met in 2018 and were in a relationship. The two had sex several times at the girl’s home in San Kio district last year, and late last month, the girl was vomiting frequently and after a pregnancy test, she told her mother about the relationship and her pregnancy.
On Saturday, the mother took her daughter to the police station to report the case.
The spokesman said that the teenage boy, surnamed Lou, then went to the police station with his parents. The spokesman said that the boy faces a charge of raping a minor.The case has meanwhile been transferred to the Public Prosecutions Office (MP).
The age of criminal responsibility in Macau is 16.
