Young local artist Inês Chan I Lei is showcasing her watercolours at “The Sight of Water” exhibition at the Youth Art Exhibition and Performance Hall.

According to information on the Education and Youth Affairs Bureau (DSEJ) website, “The Sight of Water” refers to the imagination and observation that Chan went through in her creative process which allows her to see how clear water is turned into colourful watercolours.

The exhibition showcases Chan’s paintings created in the past six years, themed mainly on architecture, figures and still life, including streets and alleys in Macau, as well as inspirations during her travels in mainland China, Belgium, Germany, and Taiwan.

According to the DSEJ website, Chan hopes the exhibition does not only show her work to the audience, but also lets the audience feel the touch of art.

According to the Macau Museum of Art (MAM) website, one of Chan’s paintings titled “A-Ma Temple (1), Macau, 2018” was shortlisted for the museum’s “Open Call for Artworks of Macau Artists 2019”.

“The Sight of Water” exhibition runs until March 15 at the Youth Art Exhibition and Performance Hall in Praça do Tap Seac, which is open from noon to 8 p.m. every day (except Mondays). Admission is free.
