The nation's table tennis team comprising 47 members has arrived in Macau for training, the Macau Sports Bureau (ID) has announced.
According to a statement by the bureau on Friday, the team arrived in Macau via Hong Kong from Qatar on Friday. The team competed in the ITTF Tour in the emirate last month and stayed there until Friday for training.
The statement stressed that for 14 days after their arrival here the team's training will take place behind closed doors. The team members will wear masks and have their body temperatures checked every day. They will refrain from any visits and activities involving crowds, the statement said.
The statement, which did not say for how long the team will stay in Macau, pointed out that the team's activities in Macau will take place in line with the government's anti-COVID-19 measures.
Macau's last two of 10 novel coronavirus cases were confirmed on February 4. The 10 patients - seven tourists from Wuhan and three locals - have meanwhile been discharged from hospital.
This afternoon (Macau time), Qatar had 320 confirmed cases.
