Marine and Water Bureau (DSAMA) Director Susanna Wong Soi Man said yesterday the plots where Coloane’s shipyards stand are land concessions and their owners have to renew them every year, adding that since the government has no development plan for the plots as yet, it has no plan to repossess them for the time being.
Wong also said that every year the bureau requests the shipyard owners to carry out necessary maintenance to ensure that the structures are safe before renewing their land-lease agreements with the government.
The director made the remarks on the sidelines of yesterday’s reception celebrating the 8th anniversary of the Alliance of Common People Building Up Macau (API) at Plaza Restaurant in Zape.
