The Macau government announced today the city's 45th COVID-19 case, pointing out that it is another imported case of the highly infectious disease.

According to a statement by the Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre, the 45th patient is a 32-year-old male resident who returned from Cambodia.

The statement pointed out that the man told Macau Health Bureau (SSM) official that he came down with a fever and cough on March 20. He took Angkor Air flight K6198 (seat 20D) on April 7. Upon arriving at the local airport, Health Bureau officials detected that he was having a fever so that he was immediately transferred to the public Conde de S. Januario Hospital Centre for tests where his COVID-19 infection was confirmed today.

The patient is undergoing treatment at the isolation ward of the public hospital. The statement said that he suffers "mild" COVID-19 symptoms.

According to official data, at least 42 of the 45 confirmed cases have been imported from the Chinese mainland and overseas.
