An exhibition entitled “Si • World of Art” showcases paintings by young local artist Stephanie Wong Si Kei at the Youth Art Exhibition and Performance Hall.
According to the Education and Youth Affairs Bureau (DSEJ) website, Wong is a pupil at Hou Kong Middle School. She wants to express her thoughts through her imagery paintings displayed at the exhibition which showcases her 3D artwork, oil and acrylic paintings, according to the website.
Wong told The Macau Post Daily in a phone interview this week that the title “Si • World of Art” consists of a word from her given name “Si” and the idea that she is an art lover. Wong said she started to learn painting when she was about three years old and became aware of her special gift for painting in her childhood. Wong said she perceives different colours when she sees words.
Wong said she was encouraged to draw imagery paintings by her mother and has been guided by her art teacher in middle school.
Wong said she liked to draw imagery paintings to let off steam when she is upset or cannot sleep. “Imagery painting is kind of my style,” Wong told The Macau Post Daily.
The exhibition runs until April 19 at The Youth Art Exhibition and Performance Hall in Praça do Tap Seac. It opens from noon to 8 p.m. every day (except Mondays). Admission is free.
As part of the government’s COVID-19 epidemic prevention measures, all visitors entering the venue must wear a facemask, have their temperature checked and present a digital health declaration.
