Global COVID-19 cases top 2 million: report

The world's number of confirmed COVID-19 cases topped two million today, according to the worldometers.info website. 

At 4:15 p.m. (Macau time), the global number of confirmed novel coronavirus cases stood at 2,004,819 in 210 countries and territories. The death toll stood at 126,830, according to the website. 

Some 30.6 percent of the world's cases were recorded in the US, which accounted for 20.5 percent of the global death toll. 

Macau has 45 confirmed novel coronavirus cases, with no deaths. Macau's first COVID-19 case was confirmed on January 22. Only one of the cases has been described by Macau  Health Bureau (SSM) officials as serious. Almost all cases have been imported.
