A bar-bending workers' union and the Falun Gong sect are the only two groups that plan to mark May Day with gatherings tomorrow, the Portuguese-language radio channel of public broadcaster TDM reported this week.
According to Radio Macau, a spokesman for the Public Security Police (PSP) announced details of the two groups' Labour Day activities during the daily press conference by the Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre about the novel coronavirus disease situation on Wednesday.
PSP spokesman Ma Chio Hong told the press conference that the bar-benders' union plans to hold gathering in various public places tomorrow, such as outside three municipal markets - Iao Hon, S. Lourenco and the Red Market.
The gathering by the Falun Gong sect involves the projection of images outside a carpark close to the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Ruins of St. Paul's, according to the report.
Ma urged members of the public to keep a safe distance from others and to avoid crowded places during the COVID-19 pandemic.
