A Nepali non-resident worker who exposed his private parts to a female passer-by in Travessa do Matadouro last Saturday was arrested on Monday, Public Security Police (PSP) spokesman Wong Wai Chon said during a regular press conference yesterday.
The 39-year-old suspect surnamed Tamang and told the police that he works as a security guard.
According to Wong, Tamang exposed his genitals to the victim, who is in her twenties, when she was walking in Travessa do Matadouro last Saturday morning. The victim and representatives of a civic association reported the incident to the police.
Thanks to CCTV footage from the area, the police were able to track down Tamang and arrested him on Monday afternoon in Rua de Cinco de Outubro. Under questioning, Tamang confessed that he exposed his private parts because he was drunk.
Tamang was transferred to the Public Prosecution Office (MP) on Monday, facing an exhibitionism charge, according to Wong.
