New gaming inspection chief sworn in

Adriano Marques Ho was sworn in yesterday as the new director of the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ). 

According to a statement by the Macau Government Information Bureau (GCS), Secretary for Economy and Finance Lei Wai Nong presided over the ceremony, which took place at the latter’s office. 

Ho, who holds a bachelor’s degree in Law from the Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST), worked for the Judiciary Police (PJ) as a criminal investigator between 1988 and 2003. He headed the local Interpol office between 2004 and 2010 when he was promoted to chief of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Judiciary Police. He became chief of the Department of Gaming-related and Economic Crimes in 2012. He worked as an advisor to the Office of the Secretary between 2014 and this month, the statement pointed out.

Ho succeeded Paulo Martins Chan, who requested to return to his original post of assistant public prosecutor-general.
