Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) said in a statement yesterday that it recently hosted a sharing session about last month’s “two sessions”, i.e. the annual sessions of the National People’s Congress (NPC) and the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC).
Macau has 12 NPC deputies and some three dozen National Committee CPPCC members.
According to the statement, Ma Iao Lai, a member of the Standing Committee of the National Committee of the 13th CPPCC, Lao Ngai Leong, a deputy to the 13th NPC, and Francis Lui Yiu-tung, a member of the National Committee of the 13th CPPCC, shared their insights on the “two sessions” with the company’s senior executives. Lui joined the session via online conference. The guests of honour included Chen Guokai, director-general of the Economic Affairs Department of the Central People’s Government Liaison Office in Macau, and Leong Man Ion, deputy director of the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ).
The sharing session was held at the JW Marriott Hotel Macau Ballroom at the Galaxy Macau integrated resort in Cotai. According to the statement, over 200 GEG executives of different nationalities attended the session.
Lui pointed out in his presentation that “since the economic reform and opening-up of China’s economy in the 1980s, its overall strength has been ever growing.
“There have been significant improvements in many sectors, including the economy, society, human rights, technology, anti-money laundering, rule of law, poverty alleviation, and environmental protection.
“We should be confident in the Central People’s Government’s continued determination to support Hong Kong and Macau’s prosperity, stability and liberty,” Lui said.
The statement underlined that “as a Chinese company that is rooted in Macau, GEG has always been committed to promoting team members and young people’s understanding of China and Macau’s development.”
